When it rains it pours. Or in this case, when it snows it… you know, snows more.
Students woke up to a different view than usual this morning, as a thick blanket of snow covered our surroundings for the first time this year. Even in the midst of dead week blues, I could not help but grin at the sight of my snow laden-neighborhood this morning.
This is the first place that I have lived that gets regular snow, so I took a moment to stop and take in my new “normal” on my morning commute, capturing the sights of the classic Boston winter weather I have heard so much about.

Pretty, right?
Winter weather can be relaxing, or a bit stressful to navigate. As we go into exam period, I want to wish everyone well and remind them that BC Law has resources available to help calm their nerves. Here’s a recent note from our wonderful law library outlining some of them!
Dear Students,
First, in an effort to provide a little extra support during the study period, the Law Library will be holding additional meditation sits at the following times:
Tuesday, December 3, 3:30-4 p.m.
Thursday, December 5, 3:30-4 p.m.
Wednesday, December 11, 3:30-4 p.m.
Thursday, December 12, 3:30-4 p.m.
Meditation sits are held in the Law Library’s Contemplation Room (Room 427).
If you find yourself feeling tired and needing a break, please check out the nap pods, located on Level 3. The nap pods offer a comfy place to “zone” out as well as a guided meditation if you so choose.
Second, as a reminder, the Lutch Learning Center (Law Library 300) is open for after-hours study. At 11:40 p.m., just before closing, the doors within the Law Library will be locked while the doors on the exterior hallway will be opened. Lutch is accessible through the outside corridor only from 11:40 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. each day. We hope our 24-hour study space will be a help as you prepare for your exams.
Finally, on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, we will have coffee, tea, and donuts in the entrance of the Law Library. If you’re studying and need a little boost, feel free to stop by. As always, starting on the first day of finals, Thursday December 5, candy will be available at the Information Desk.
Best wishes,
The Law Library Faculty and Staff
P.S. Don’t forget that on Wednesday, December 4, and Thursday, December 5, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., the Law Library will be welcoming several new and returning therapy-dog teams.
