#FREEBRITNEY, Now Free Yourself From Stress

Recently, one of BC Law’s arguably proudest moments has been notable alum Mathew Rosengart ‘87 freeing Britney Spears from her conservatorship. To celebrate this victory for the pop culture queen, here is a fitting Britney Spears playlist to help you survive the remainder of the semester.

  1. Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know (2000, Album: Oops!…I Did It Again)

This pop ballad will get you in your feels when you are searching the LSA outline bank for that one class where you have no idea what is going on. Whether you’re sliding into an upperclassmen’s DMs for help or desperately emailing your professors to set up office hours, you will be singing this song with Brit.

  1. …Baby One More Time (1999, Album: …Baby One More Time)

Does your professor talk too fast in class? Is the Rule Against Perpetuities confusing to you? Do you just need something repeated, say, one more time? Then this is the song for you.

  1. Break the Ice (2007, Album: Blackout)

Britney opens the song with “It’s been a while. I know I shouldn’t have kept you waiting, but I’m here now.” Shockingly, these lyrics are not Ms. Spears addressing her nonexistent class outlines. However, they might be applicable to you if you’re finding yourself in that situation.

  1. I Wanna Go (2011, Album: Femme Fatale)

This song is very versatile. I wanna go crush these exams. I wanna go chase my dreams. I wanna go home from this library. I wanna go on winter break. I wanna go drop out. This list goes on….

  1. Lucky (2000, Album: Oops!…I Did It Again)

For when you get through a class without getting cold called.

  1. Scream & Shout (2013, Album: #willpower)

While studying may make you want to “scream and shout and let it all out,” unless you want to get reported for a noise complaint, please refrain from doing so in the library.

  1. Don’t Cry (2013, Album: Britney Jean)

This one is self explanatory.

  1. Circus (2008, Album: Circus)

In this banger, Britney suggests,“There’s two types of people in the world. Those that entertain and those that observe.”  If you participate in any of your classes, you are “a put on-a-show kind of girl.” I don’t make the rules.

  1. Brightest Morning Star (2013, Album: Britney Jean)

This is for all my Newton Legal Express commuters. The most predictable and reliable presence in my daily life is the shuttle schedule. And since winter is rapidly approaching, those taking the 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM shuttles before the sun rises truly think of the Newton Bus as their brightest morning star. This one is dedicated to you.

  1. It Should Be Easy (2013, Album: Britney Jean)

Most law school exams are open book, so it should be easy . . . right? RIGHT?!

  1. (You Drive Me) Crazy (1999, Album: …Baby, One More Time)

We all have that one gunner in our class that is ALWAYS raising their hand in class. Even if they have a great contribution to the class discussion, you still roll your eyes at the sound of their voice. It drives you crazy. Thinking of them might even keep you up all night.

  1. Oops!…I Did It Again (2000, Album: Oops!…I Did It Again)

This is relatable for when you’re getting ready to go to bed after a long day and realizing that you virtually got no work done.
