Experiences between college and law school: I worked for two years as a legal assistant in the antitrust department in the DC Office of Skadden Arps, and for another two years as Skadden’s Pro Bono Coordinator.
It goes without saying that BC Law offers a broad range of challenging classes, taught by wonderful faculty committed to producing lawyers who strive not only to win cases, but to serve their communities as well. But more and more experiential learning is happening inside the classroom itself.

Experiences between college and law school: In the year between graduating from undergrad and coming to law school I received my master’s degree in history.
American legal history and culture distinguishes itself both by its respect for the Constitution and its eagerness to heatedly debate its interpretation. There are those who believe in a “living Constitution,” constructed by the Framers to be flexible and changing with the mores and demands of the progressing society it serves. Others are “textualists,” prominent among them the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who believe that the Framers designed the Constitution to be a stable bedrock of fundamental law with specific avenues for amendment, to serve as a foundation upon which legislative action can build a legal edifice. They see the Constitution as concrete in what it says, and wish to leave anything it does not say to the legislative authority of the Congress and States, rather than the courts.

I took 3 years off after high school before going back to college. In that time I traveled with a music group and worked with a young adult leadership organization. After undergrad I went straight into law school.
Favorite event that your organization plans:
Culture shock. The event is amazing because it gives law students a candid opportunity to talk about social issues in a safe environment.

Experiences between college and law school: I was a paralegal at a criminal defense law firm in Atlanta, GA for a year. For the summer immediately preceding law school, I worked at a colonial-themed restaurant in Gettysburg, PA. I still have the knickers.

Yesterday, U.S. News World & Report announced its 2017 list of “Best Law Schools.” Boston College Law School rose (again) this year, up four spots to #30.
Here is a letter sent out to the BC Law community from our Dean, Vincent Rougeau, commenting on the rise in the ranks:
BC Law officially kicked off Diversity Month with the “Taste of Diversity.” The event offers an opportunity for students to interact and sample food from the different affinity groups. Prior to the event, LSA President Nirav Bhatt ’16 said, “Every year students are excited for the tasty food and thought-provoking conversations that arise during the buffet style event. I’m looking forward to it!” Indeed, it’s an event that students have been talking about for weeks leading up to it. We all know students love free food, especially quality food!
