Take a Break from Studying: The Pets of BC Law Ch. 3

This holiday season, I’m incredibly thankful to everyone who participated by submitting their pets. Stay tuned for Ch. 4, released during the Spring semester, to meet even more of our furry, scaly, and feathered friends!

Asmodeus: Joey Black’s Flemish Giant Rabbit

Joey is a 3L from Rolling Hills, CA and Asmodeus is his 14-month-old Flemish Giant Rabbit who is a “menace to society.” He loves to rampage through Joey’s apartment, tear holes in his clothes and bank account, and destroy Joey’s sense of sanctuary. Despite this, or maybe because of it, Joey shared that Asmodeus “Is perfect and I love him.”

Teddy: Professor Maureen Van Neste’s Heinz 57 Mutt

Professor Van Neste is from Saratoga Springs, NY, and teaches Law Practice I & II. Teddy is her 5-year-old Heinz 57 Mutt. Teddy is an anxious mama’s boy who does not like to be alone. He is always down to snuggle on the couch with his humans or hike off-leash in the Middlesex Fells. He loves BC Law students, and he and Professor Van Neste will be looking forward to taking a group of students out as part of a PILF charity auction event!

Noodle: Emily Pinner’s Cockatiel

Emily Pinner is a 3L from East Providence, RI, and Noodle is her 4-year-old Cockatiel. Noodle is a drama queen who demands attention at all times and will scream when something doesn’t go her way. She enjoys pulling the keys off of keyboards, chewing phone chargers, and generally being a lovable menace. Emily taught Noodle how to fly when she rescued her six months ago, but Noodle still prefers to be carried around the house like the royalty she believes she is.

Daisy: Olivia Blackman’s Pug

Olivia Blackman is a 1L from Newburyport, MA and Daisy is her 9-year-old pug. Daisy is super playful with her toys, but she is LAZY! She would choose to snuggle up on the couch over a walk any day. She is a sweet girl who loves being around her people at all times.

Jiji: Alyssa Nelson’s Black Cat

Alyssa Nelson is a 2L from Rochester, NY and Jiji is her almost 2-year-old black cat. Jiji is the sweetest cat who loves her laser pointer, catnip, and her humans!

Ruby: Nick Russell’s Goldendoodle

Nick Russell is a 3L from Boston, MA, and Ruby is his 1.5-year-old Goldendoodle. Ruby is a very cuddly, loving puppy who is prone to naps between 9:00am – 6:00pm, followed by bursts of uncontrollable energy in the wee hours of the morning. She recently decided she is above her Costco kibble and will wait for Nick to make chicken and rice for her instead.

Daisy: Dorothy Commons’s Gray Tabby COVID Rescue

Dorothy Commons is from Arlington, MA, and serves as the Associate Director of BC Law’s Career Services Office. Daisy is her 3.5-year-old gray tabby COVID rescue cat who is playful and cuddly, but only on her terms. Like most cats, she will put herself into any bag, box, or open cabinet available – a few weeks ago she jumped into the fridge when the door was opened! She sleeps on top of Dorothy most nights which is both lovely and uncomfortable.

Tank: Anna Fucillo’s Husky/Boxer/Lab Mix

Anna Fucillo is a 3L from Winthrop, MA, and Tank is her 2.5-year-old Husky/Boxer/Lab Mix. Tank is spunky and talkative 10% of the time, and very lazy the remaining 90% of the time. Tank is a rescue from Alabama and is a very brave boy. He was the only one in his litter to survive a bad bout of parvovirus, and that’s how he got his name.

Lulu: Sofia Miyares’s French Bulldog

Sofia Miyares is a 1L from Miami, FL, and Lulu is her 7-year-old French Bulldog. Lulu is very funny and loves attention. If she’s not eating or on a walk, she’s probably sleeping. She came all the way from Miami to Boston to cheer Sofia on in her graduation from BC undergrad in 2022!

Louis: Alphonso Gentry’s Daisy Dog

Alphonso Gentry is a 3L from East Cobb, GA, and Louis is his 11-month-old Daisy Dog! Louis is a playful cuddler who loves to dance.

Finnegan “Finn” Albus: Jason Jose’s Mini Goldendoodle

Jason Jose is a 3L from Long Beach, CA, and Finn is his 3-year-old Mini Goldendoodle. Finn is simultaneously the most approachable-looking dog but is aloof when it comes to people. Although he looks cute and curious, the second someone reaches for him he pulls back, saying, “Not so fast.” Once you make it to the inner circle though, he’ll love you to death. For his fans, Finnegan’s Finnsta is @finnegan_albus.
