Take a Break from Studying: The Pets of BC Law (2024 Edition)

As we embark on final exams and the end of a semester, I’m grateful to wrap up my final BC Law Impact Blog post with the pets of BC, thanks to everyone’s stellar submissions of their adorable pets. My niche at the blog has not been hard-hitting journalism, and I’m happy not to start now.

Cooper: Caleb Brady’s Golden Doodle

Caleb is a 2L from Lakeville, MN and Cooper is his 3-year-old Golden Doodle who is energetic, loving, and [a little too] friendly.

Honey: Allie Figlin’s Corgi

Allie is a 3L from Torrance, CA and Honey is her 3-year-old Corgi. Honey is super playful and loves walking by the beach, playing fetch, eating Allie’s homemade soups, and barking at squirrels.

Violet: Professor Shah’s Leopard Gecko

Professor Shah is an associate professor and Provost Faculty Fellow at BC Law who teaches Administrative Law, Dangers of the Administrative State, and Criminal Law. Violet is her 5-year-old gecko who is pretty socialized for a lizard! She is patient with kids holding and interacting with her. In the early evening, she pops her head out of her cave and plays peek-a-boo.

Bella: Alexandra’s Havanese

Alexandra Younes is a 1L at BC Law and Bella is her 13-year-old Havanese. Bella is a bundle of joy with her infectious enthusiasm, playful spirit, and irresistible charm that brightens every moment.

Elvis & Anyra: Zach’s Black Cat and Great Dane

Zach Treichel is a 3L from North Branford, CT. Elvis is his 3-year-old black cat and Anya is his 1-year-old Great Dane. Elvis likes to play hard to get, but the truth is he just wants someone to pet him while he lays on you. Anya is a mischievous little drama queen who loves to get affection from anything and anyone. Despite this, if you try to force either of them to cuddle, they will rebel.

Cooper: Cayla’s Dog

Cayla Nyante Brown is a 3L from Austin, TX and Cooper is her 10-year-old dog who is a diva. Not only is he very cute, he is very talented – he can stand on his hind legs and beg for anything!

Maverick: Morgan’s Bouvier

Morgan Sloan is a 2L from Philadelphia, PA and Maverick is her 7-year-old Bouvier who is a gentle giant and the biggest cuddler. He also loves to chase birds and protect the house. Despite his size, Maverick goes everywhere with Morgan! Fun Fact: Maverick passed the bar with a score high enough to practice in any UBE jurisidiction.

Lily & Walter: Anna’s Great Danes

Anna Booth is a 3L from Westminser, MA with a two Great Danes: 4-year-old Lily and 2-year-old Walter. Although Lily is pretty fearless, Walter is afraid of everything, even his own bark.

Lily: Ashley’s Cavachon

Ashley Koman is a 1L from Burlington, MA and Lily is her 4-year-old Cavachon who’s judgmental, super cuddly, and likes to run around the house barking at 3:00am. She won’t comfort you when you’re upset, but she’s always there to make you laugh. She can stand on her hind legs and twirl in a circle!

Moz: Professor Rangaviz’s Mutt

Professor Rangaviz is an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and my favorite Crim Pro professor. His 8-year-old (in human years) dog Moz is a loner, lazy and very gentle. In his free time, Moz inspires Professor Rangaviz’s drug-sniffing-dog hypotheticals.

Riley & Bailey: Jenny’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

Jenny Tamkin is a 3L from Needham, MA with two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels: 15-year-old Riley and 8-year-old Bailey. Riley is a cuddle bug who loves to sit on laps and scheme for snacks. Bailey prefers to stare at you from afar but is a big ball of energy with a questionably low number of thoughts in her head. Riley is deaf, so Bailey signals to him when Jenny calls them– she’s like Riley’s service dog!

Dash: Sarah’s Great Dane

Sarah Weiswasser is a 3L from Montclair, NJ and Dash is her 2-year-old Great Dane. Dash is a darling and a total cuddle bug – he thinks he’s a lapdog! Dash is also scared of flies and loves to look at himself in the mirror.
